T.J. Samson Community Hospital Seeks Secure, Immediate Access to Patient Data Through Implementation of Streamline Health's Hosted Document Workflow Solutions

CINCINNATI, Ohio    July 24, 2006 — Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ Capital Market: STRM), a leading provider of integrated document management and workflow solutions, today announced that T.J. Samson Community Hospital, based in Glasgow, Kentucky, selected Streamline Health’s document workflow solutions for their Health Information Management (HIM) business process initiatives to achieve operational improvements. By implementing the workflow solutions from Streamline Health, T.J. Samson aims to improve the flow of information across the hospital and enhance the quality of healthcare to its patients. Streamline Health will host the T.J. Samson document management and workflow solutions in Streamline Health’s Hosting Center based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and will integrate with the hospital’s legacy Siemens clinical application.

Remotely-Hosted Option Facilitates Implementation of Document Workflow Solutions
By selecting Streamline Health’s hosted option, T.J. Samson Community Hospital, a 196-bed acute care hospital serving Barren and surrounding counties in South Central Kentucky, is able to facilitate the implementation of Streamline Health’s document workflow solutions within their HIM department and gain access to 24x7 dedicated technical support staff at Streamline Health for support of the applications. “Streamline Health’s remotely-hosted solution provided us with a flexible and secure method to achieve our goal of enhancing how we process patient information, which ultimately serves our patients with more informed healthcare decisions,” said Susan Garrett, Director of Health Information Management at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. “We anticipate that these workflow solutions will create efficiencies within the Health Information Management department and beyond, generating cost savings and a quicker response time.”

Since 1929, T.J. Samson Community Hospital has continued to expand its services within the region. The hospital will use Streamline Health’s Health Information Management solutions to support its growth, increase the accuracy of information flows, and ensure a continuous delivery of excellent patient care throughout its community. Streamline Health’s workflow solutions will provide T.J. Samson with a document-based repository of historical health information conveniently accessed with a single log-on. Through Streamline Health’s solutions, T.J. Samson Hospital will be able to easily retrieve all forms of patient information, whether generated electronically or from paper. These applications also alleviate process friction points, caused by the various disparate technologies used across the hospital, to enhance interoperability and increase the flow of information throughout the facility.

The Streamline Health solutions include the following:

  • accessANYware™-HIM provides enterprise access to a patient's medical records to better coordinate patient care.
  • Completion Workflow expedites the completion of the medical record and accelerates the completion of billing services.
  • Coding Workflow™ improves coding turnaround time by prioritizing and pushing work tasks to staff coders on campus or in remote locations, including home-based employees.
  • Release of Information Workflow™ facilitates efficient compliance with requests for patient information from third party requestors.
  • Document Capture Solutions deliver high speed production scanning and indexing as well as departmental document capture and management.
