News Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Cincinnati, Ohio, December 4, 2007 — Streamline Health Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ Capital Market: STRM), a leading provider of integrated document management and workflow solutions, today announced that it has reached an agreement with Emergis Inc. (TSX: EME), under which Emergis is integrating Streamline Health’s accessANYwareTM document management repository and document workflow applications into its Oacis Electronic Medical Record (EMR) solution. The integrated solution addresses clinicians’ need for immediate access to patient records in hybrid environments, where electronic health records still cohabit with paper.
“Our partnership with Streamline Health underscores our continuous commitment to offer clinicians advanced capabilities to improve patient care” said Mark Groper, Executive Vice-President, Health – Public Sector at Emergis. “With the integration of Streamline Health’s document management capability into our EMR solution, we will be supporting health professionals and health systems as they shift progressively from a paper-intensive environment towards electronic health records.”
Streamline Health’s applications offer document management and workflow capabilities that allow health care professionals to electronically capture and route any kind of document, clinical or otherwise, related to a patient and store the information in a document repository. This application complements Emergis’ Oacis EMR solution as clinicians will be able to use a single integrated software solution, which combines scanned and electronic data records to access, view and browse patient information online and in real-time, through the Oacis Clinical Viewer.
“Our customers are facing challenges when managing today’s hybrid patient records, encompassing both electronic patient data and documents,” said Brian Patsy, President and CEO of Streamline Health. “The integration of our document workflow applications into Oacis offers superior clinical data management capabilities. By combining our health solutions, we are enhancing the health delivery workflow, speeding up the sharing of information among health professionals and contributing to improved patient safety and to the quality and efficiency of health services.”
Thanks to its open-architecture, scalability and end-user configurability, the Oacis Interoperable Technology Platform serves as the bridge that unifies disparate systems across the enterprise and offers the most flexible health care-specific infrastructure available. At its core, the Oacis Clinical Data Repository is the “gold standard” for collecting and presenting comprehensive patient information at the point of care.
